B. Impromptu Speech (Preliminary Round 2)
Speech Subject and Preparation
1. Each contestant shall draw a topic slip containing three topics. Topic area: Choices that would include: One word, one philosophical phrase, one policy oriented topic.
2. Contestants may choose one topic to be used in the speech.
3. Contestants shall have 30 seconds to prepare before speaking. This 30 seconds shall not be counted as a part of the five minutes.
4. Notes, materials, or previously prepared speech outlines shall not be allowed as the contestant speaks.
Timing of the Speeches
1. The speech should be no less than 3 minutes or more than 5 minutes in length. Contestants who speak less than 3 minutes or more than 5 minutes shall get his/her points deducted (2 points per 10 seconds of the total score).
2. Timing will begin with the first word uttered by the contestant which would includes any other communication such as sound effects, a staged act, etc.
3. Timers shall provide warning signals to the contestants (flags), which shall be clearly visible to the speakers but not obvious to the audience.
· A green signal will be displayed at the third minute and remain dispaleyed for one minute.
· A yellow signal will be displayed at the fourth minute and remain displayed for one minute.
· A red signal will be displayed at the fifth minute and remain on until the conclusion of the speech.
· No signal shall be given for overtime period.
· Any visually impaired contestant is permitted to request and must be granted a form of warning signal of his or her own choosing. Acceptable warning signals would include, but not limited to a buzzer, a bell, a person announcing the times of three, four, and five minutes.
· In the event of technical failure of the signal, a speaker will be given 30 seconds extra overtime before point deduction.
C. Tall Tales Speech (Quarter Final)
Speech Subject and Preparation
1. Subject for the Tall Tales Speech shall be selected by the contestant.
2. Contestant must prepare their own three-to- five minute speeches, which must be original, but may include references to research, quotations, statistics, and material from other sources, as long as it contains an original or unique approach, not a substantial copy of another product.
3. The speech must be of highly exaggerated, improbable nature, and has a theme or plot. Humor and properties may be used to support or illustrate the speech.

D. Imaginary Pictures Speech (Semi Final)
Speech Subject and Preparation
The participants will get a picture from the media and they can open their imagination to draw the theme from the piture and develop it. The picture is not different for each participant and relates to the latest issure about economy, environment and goverment. There will be no question and answer session after the participant ends the speech. Participants may deliver their speeches in 3 to 5 minutes.

E. Grand Final Round
Speech Subject and Preparation
1. Subject for the prepared speech shall be selected by the contestant but still in connection with the topic appointed.
2. Contestant must prepare their own five-to- seven minute speeches, which must be original, but may include references to research, quotations, statistics, and material from other sources, as long as it contains an original or unique approach, not a substantial copy of another product.
3. Demonstration objects and visual aids may be used, but should not be a major portion of the speech. No slide, videos, or overhead projected image can be used.
4. The speech should not be read, but adequate outline notes may be used.
5. The topic of Grand Final speech will be given in Quarter Final round via blog at www.efecunsoed.blogspot.com. So all participants who enter in Quarter Final round have to make prepare speech for Grand Final round.
